The Shreveport Times: SPLC Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Louisiana Department of Health

O’Melveny has joined several non-profits in suing the Louisiana Department of Health over its failure to provide mental health services to Medicaid-eligible children across the state, The Shreveport Times reported.

“The suit seeks a court order to require the state to fulfill its obligation under law to provide the necessary services for children with mental health needs and to prevent the unnecessary risk of institutionalization,” The Shreveport Times reported. “It was filed by SPLC and its partners at the National Health Law Program; the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, the Advocacy Center of Louisiana; and O’Melveny & Myers LLP, on behalf of the children and their parents.”
