Tech Crunch: Commons Clause Stops Open-Source AbuseSeptember 07, 2018
A group of open-source companies aiming to create a clause to prevent the abuse of its product by cloud infrastructure provider was advised by O’Melveny partner Heather Meeker. Meeker developed the “Commons Clause” to prohibit “the running of a commercial service with somebody else’s open-source software.” This clause has already been added as a rider to Redis Labs’ open-source license.
