The Buffalo News: State’s Bills study explores more options: site near downtown, renovated Highmark Stadium

Empire State Development released a copy of its agreement with O’Melveny to provide legal services in negotiations for a new stadium for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills. O’Melveny partner Irwin Raij, who previously advised the state on negotiations for renovations to the Bills current stadium, is leading the negotiations. “Empire State Development hired Raij and his new firm without putting the legal work up for bid,” the publication noted, “arguing his previous experience with stadium negotiations and advising New York (State) made the firm ‘uniquely qualified' for the contract.” The Manhattan attorney and O’Melveny have “extensive experience in stadium negotiations.”
