The Deal: Willkie Goes West, O’Melveny, Munger Name New Partners

O’Melveny added a nine-partner class that is nearly 80% women, people of color, and LGBT individuals. This is the fifth straight year that women are more than 40% of O’Melveny’s new partners and the fourth straight year that over 50% of the new class is diverse.

The nine new partners are spread across four offices, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. “In Hong Kong: Ke Zhu offers clients broad experience spanning initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, financing, and private equity and venture capital investments. In Los Angeles: Dimitri Portnoi is a member of O’Melveny’s water industry group and uses his knowledge of water law and regulatory law to counsel clients on litigation matters and transactions. Daniel Suvor is a strategic adviser in high-stakes litigation, government investigations, and regulatory issues. Xin-Yi (Vincent) Zhou focuses on patent and trade secret litigation involving computer chips, semiconductor fabrication, telecommunications, and mobile technologies. In New York: Alicja Biskupska-Haas advises managers of private equity funds, venture capital funds, and hedge funds on fund formation, operations, regulatory, general corporate, and portfolio company transaction matters. A significant portion of Hannah Chanoine’s practice involves defending and advising consumer packaged goods and consumer electronics companies in nationwide false advertising cases. Mia Gonzalez is a member of the firm’s white collar defense and corporate investigations practice. Joseph Zujkowski is a member of the bankruptcy and restructuring group.
