The National Law Journal: Ex-Obama Official Lisa Monaco Joins O’Melveny as Data Security and Privacy Co-Chair

Lisa Monaco has joined O’Melveny as a partner and co-chair of the Data Security and Privacy group, and member of the White-Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations group. A veteran of Washington, Monaco’s career includes 15 years at the Department of Justice, three years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation including as counsel and chief of staff to former director Robert Mueller, and homeland security adviser during President Obama’s second term.

At O’Melveny, Monaco reunites with several of her colleagues from the Obama administration including Data Security and Privacy group co-chair Steve Bunnell and senior of counsel Tom Donilon.

“Having operated at the most senior levels of the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the White House, Lisa is uniquely equipped to guide our clients on their most pressing challenges, including corporate investigations, cross-border litigation, and regulatory compliance,” said O’Melveny chair Bradley Butwin.
