The National Law Journal: The National Law Journal’s List of 2021 “Sports, Gaming & Entertainment Trailblazers”

O’Melveny partner and co-chair of its Sports industry group Jared Bartie has been named to The National Law Journal’s list of 2021 “Sports, Gaming & Entertainment Trailblazers,” which honors “agents of change” in their respective areas of practice. Bartie is a nationally recognized sports attorney who has developed a robust practice in the esports industry and told the publication of the evolution of the esports industry. “While gaming and esports are currently considered ‘burgeoning’ industries, that designation will be short lived as the sector is poised for continued growth and will soon be considered a mainstay of the sports/media/entertainment landscape,” Bartie said. “My prediction is that gaming and esports will become a first sports/entertainment option to the Gen Z and Gen Alpha communities. The advent of technology and the social connectivity afforded by the Internet have positioned the gaming and esports sector as the quintessential social engagement sporting and entertainment activity.”
