The Pacific Council on International Policy will honor Hillary Rodham Clinton with the inaugural Warren Christopher Public Service Award at a gala event on May 8, 2013, in Los Angeles.
"The Christopher Award seeks to honor the lifetime achievements of former Secretary of State Warren Christopher, the long-time Chair of the Pacific Council's Board of Directors, and to recognize the public service of others whose work reflects his distinctive leadership qualities," said Council President and CEO Jerrold Green. "His career was defined by commitment to international affairs, to high ethical standards, to promotion of the common good, to equality and fairness, and to government service as a noble pursuit. We are pleased to recognize Secretary Clinton as the first recipient of this award."
Named in honor of former United States Secretary of State Warren Christopher, O'Melveny & Myers LLP's former Senior Partner and Chairman who was widely regarded as an exemplary lawyer and public servant who achieved prominence in both the legal profession and on the global stage as he moved seamlessly between public service and private enterprise, often serving both simultaneously.
