O’Melveny counsel John Dermody was quoted in this article about Big Law’s increased efforts to recruit lawyers with national security backgrounds to better serve private companies facing greater government scrutiny of how they handle consumer data.
“The government, in general, has become more concerned in the last couple of years about the data [companies are collecting] and data usage. And so those national security concerns are coming to the fore,” said Dermody, a former official with the National Security Council and US Department of Homeland Security.
