Tobey Discusses Dealmaking in the Entertainment Industry at UCFTI

Partner Bruce Tobey spoke on a panel titled “The Art of Dealmaking” at the 2016 US China Film & TV Industry (UCFTI) in Los Angeles. The panel focused on deal finance and equity, new investments, selecting the right deal partner, and how different corporate structures can impact negotiations. In a video clip published by UCFTI, Tobey explains how O’Melveny’s extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry can help guide transactions from their earliest stages. 

“From my perspective, the earlier that we can have input, I think that’s the most beneficial for the client. We know the customs and practices generally in the industry. We know the particular business needs of certain of the studios and what they care about the most. And we can help guide the dealmaking,” Tobey said.
