August 20, 2014

O’Melveny & Myers’ David Lash was recently interviewed by Voice of America for a video report on law firm pro bono work. In the report by VOA’s Elizabeth Lee, “Concept of 'Free Legal Help' Gains Ground in US,” Lash discusses O’Melveny’s global pro bono program and his role as the Firm’s managing counsel of pro bono and public interest services. “The last 10 years has seen a substantial growth in pro bono participation among lawyers…the notion is burgeoning and growing,” Lash said. "It’s magnificent to use your skills and profession in a really profound way.” The report features an interview with a pro bono client who received help in a guardianship case from Bet Tzedek, a leading provider of free, comprehensive legal services for low-income individuals and families in Los Angeles. The piece also discusses O'Melveny and Bet Tzedek's current collaboration on efforts to help unaccompanied immigrant children arriving into the US.
