Warner Bros., DC Comics Rack Up Another Win in Superman Copyright Suit
February 10, 2016Multiple media outlets detail O’Melveny’s role in helping Warner Bros. and DC Comics achieve the latest in a long string of victories surrounding the copyrights to the iconic Superman character. The Ninth Circuit refused a request by Superman co-creator Jerome Siegel’s daughter to revive her suit seeking control of certain Superman copyrights, finding Siegel’s family had transferred its rights to Warner Bros. and subsidiary DC Comics. Warner Bros. is represented by partners Jonathan Hacker, Daniel Petrocelli, Matt Kline, and Cassandra Seto of O'Melveny.
