Washingtonian: Top Lawyers

November 30, 2020

O’Melveny partner Peter Friedman and of counsel Mary Patrice Brown were recognized in Washingtonian’s round-up of top lawyers practicing in the DC area.

The publication noted that the biennial list aims to compile the best legal talent in Washington and features lawyers nominated by previous ‘Top Lawyers’ recipients and those with newsworthy accomplishments in their respective areas.

One of the nation’s leading bankruptcy and restructuring litigators, Friedman represents troubled borrowers and their stakeholders, including lenders, bondholders, investors, and officers and directors, in complex and high-profile cases before bankruptcy courts, district courts and courts of appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

A litigator and member of the firm’s White Collar Defense & Corporate Investigations practice, Brown is a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division at the US Department of Justice. She also has held many other senior leadership positions within the DOJ and the US Attorney’s Office in DC, including Chief of the Criminal Division at the US Attorney’s Office and head of the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility.

Washingtonian’s Top Lawyers list appears in the magazine’s December 2020 print edition and will be published here in January 2021.
