WIVB-TV (CBS Buffalo): State Study of Bills’ Stadium Needs Reviewing All Possibilities, Including Renovation

September 29, 2021

The NFL’s Buffalo Bills are ready to move on from their current home at Highmark Stadium and build a new facility for the team. Building a new stadium, which is expected to cost around US$1.4 billion, is the smarter and more economical option as previous plans to renovate the current stadium were deemed “unrealistic” and valued to cost US$1 billion. The state has approved a contract with O’Melveny & Myers LLP in order to “provide legal services related to negotiations for the state related to the Bills Stadium.” The Bills’ current lease is set to expire in 2023 and the new stadium is said to be located near the team’s current stadium in Orchard Park. WTEN-TV (ABC Albany) and WJET-TV (ABC Erie) also ran this story.
