American Lawyer’s Midlevel Associate Survey Ranks O’Melveny as a Top Firm八月 29, 2017

New York, NY—August 29, 2017—The American Lawyer’s annual Midlevel Associate Survey has again ranked O’Melveny second in the nation, marking the second consecutive year the firm captured that spot and the fifth consecutive year in the top 10. Each year, the publication surveys third-, fourth-, and fifth-year associates on several aspects of job satisfaction, including compensation and benefits, training and guidance, interaction with partners and other associates, the interest and satisfaction level of the work, the firm’s policy on billable hours, and management’s openness about firm strategies and partnership chances. This year, 98% of the firm’s eligible midlevel associates participated in the survey.
The firm is also among the two most highly ranked firms on the survey when it comes to technology. Associates were asked to rate their firms on a scale of one to five in four categories: firm-provided technology, firm-provided technology training, technology support, and use of technology on behalf of clients. Overall rankings reflect the sum of those scores. The American Lawyer drew a connection between O’Melveny’s strong performance in the tech survey to its work for industry giants.
In addition, O’Melveny scored highly on The American Lawyer’s regional rankings. Each of the firm’s offices that qualified for an individual score ranked in the top 3 for their regions with Los Angeles/Century City, Newport Beach, New York, and Silicon Valley achieving a No. 1 ranking; San Francisco and Washington, DC No. 2; and London No. 3.
The results follow other recent recognition for O’Melveny’s distinct firm culture, including a place on The American Lawyer’s prestigious A-List for the sixth consecutive year in a row, as well as Working Mother and ABA Journal’s Best Law Firms for Women, Vault’s Best Law Firm for Firm Culture, and Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Millennials.
