Baker to Be Honored at Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Crimson Ball

New York—March 19, 2018—O’Melveny partner and co-chair of the firm’s Sports Industry Group, Charles “Chuck” Baker, will be recognized by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as the corporate honoree at its New York City chapter’s Crimson Ball on March 21, 2018, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

“I’m incredibly honored by this recognition and proud to be a part of this remarkable organization,” said Baker. “The LLS has saved millions of lives and continues to make tremendous strides toward finding a cure for leukemia.”

The inaugural event will also honor Helena Scott and Kristen Hill, co-founders of Moms in Training, with WNBC-TV sports anchor Bruce Beck serving as master of ceremonies. More than 400 guests are expected to attend the fundraiser, which will feature dinner, entertainment and a silent auction.

Baker, who serves on the organization’s Board of Trustees, said his work with LLS was inspired by his experiences meeting pediatric patients, whose bravery and resilience left a lasting impression on him. He served as the LLS Committee Chair for its Mets Annual Welcome Home dinner for 10 years, starting with its inaugural year in 2006. Baker joined the New York City Board of Trustees in 2008.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research, finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
