LOS ANGELES, CA – SEPTEMBER 21, 2012The Best Lawyers in America, the oldest peer-review publication in the legal profession, has selected 50 O’Melveny lawyers for inclusion in its 2013 edition.  Seven of those O’Melveny lawyers were named “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective practice areas, a distinction bestowed upon only one lawyer in each practice area in each community.  Partners Seth Aronson (Securities / Capital Markets; Los Angeles), Robert Eccles (ERISA; Washington, DC), Linda Griffey (ERISA; retired), Jay Herron (Mergers & Acquisitions; Newport Beach), Gary Singer (Corporate Law; Newport Beach), Richard Shutran (Project Finance; New York), and Michael Yoder (Bet-the-Company Litigation; Newport Beach) received this special designation.

Representing 128 practice areas in all 50 states and Washington, DC, the Best Lawyers lists are compiled through an exhaustive peer-review survey in which tens of thousands of the top lawyers in the US confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The 2013 edition is based on more than 4.3 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.
