LOS ANGELES ─ September 11, 2013 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP partners Daniel Petrocelli, Marvin Putnam, and Paul Scrivano have been named to Daily Journal’s Top 100 list for 2013. The Daily Journal’s annual list culls the best legal talent from hundreds of submissions, honoring “attorneys whose work is having the widest impact, and not just on their career or their firm’s bottom line; work that is changing an industry or the law or the society as a whole.”
Petrocelli is recognized for his victory for client Allergan Inc. in a trade secrets case, his ongoing work surrounding the copyrights to the Superman character, and his representation of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in its battle with Dick Clark Productions over the broadcast rights to the Golden Globes Awards show. Petrocelli is Chair of the Business Trial and Litigation Practice and resides in the Century City office.
The feature on Putnam details his work for Anschutz Entertainment Group in both the lawsuit trying to stop its proposed football stadium in downtown Los Angeles and the ongoing alleged wrongful death trial of Michael Jackson. Putnam is a member of the Business Trial and Litigation Practice and Firmwide Hiring Partner. He resides in the Century City office.
Scrivano is spotlighted for his work with BGI-Shenzhen helping the Chinese gene sequencer be the first Chinese buyer to acquire a US public company: Complete Genomics. The article details the regulatory hurdles of the cross-border transaction. Scrivano is co-head of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice in the US and splits his time between the New York, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley offices.
