WASHINGTON, DC ─ August 19, 2010 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP announced that Eric S. Namrow has joined the Firm as a partner and member of the Intellectual Property and Technology (IP&T) Practice in its Litigation Department. Namrow will be resident in O’Melveny’s Washington, DC office.

Namrow concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation and counseling and has handled jury and nonjury trials in courts throughout the US in all areas of intellectual property, including patents, trademark and trade dress, copyright, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition. He has also represented clients in appeals to the US Supreme Court, US Courts of Appeals, and state supreme courts. Notably, Namrow has extensive experience appearing before the International Trade Commission (ITC) in fast-paced Section 337 proceedings, the forum for litigating IP disputes involving imported products. He has represented complainants and respondents in more than two dozen ITC investigations, and he regularly counsels international companies regarding ITC procedure, as well as regarding related proceedings before US Customs and the Court of International Trade.

“Eric’s formidable patent litigation skills will enhance our ability to assist clients with the complex infringement issues they face,” said Darin Snyder, Chair of O’Melveny’s IP&T Practice. “In particular, his substantial experience and outstanding track record before the ITC will significantly bolster O’Melveny’s capabilities in this area, given the increasing globalization of patent infringement disputes.

“I am very excited to be joining O’Melveny, particularly given the Firm’s well-established IP practice, its global platform, and its collegial culture,” said Namrow. “Having worked closely with O’Melveny’s lawyers in the past, I am very familiar with the Firm’s depth of talent and commitment to excellence, and I am delighted to enhance the Firm’s IP practice in general and its ITC presence in particular. O’Melveny is dedicated to being the go-to firm for ITC investigations, and I am looking forward to helping spearhead the Firm’s capabilities in these high-stakes cases.

Prior to joining O’Melveny, Namrow practiced at another international law firm where he led teams of IP professionals and served in leadership roles. He is a member of the Board of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, and a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association’s IP and Litigation Sections, and the Federal Circuit Bar Association. Namrow received his BA from Bucknell University, a master’s degree from Oxford University, and a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law.
