FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CENTURY CITY—December 12, 2017—O’Melveny partners Matthew Erramouspe and Bruce Tobey were selected for inclusion in Variety’s 2017 Dealmakers Impact Report. The special report, published Dec. 12, 2017, profiles the top attorneys in the entertainment industry.

Erramouspe, co-chair of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports, and Media practice, is a dealmaker and trusted advisor who counsels clients in all business and legal aspects related to the financing, acquisition, production, and distribution of content and live events. Variety’s profile highlighted his work for Libra Foundation in its investment in multicultural Macro Ventures, Top Rank in a multi-year TV boxing contract with ESPN, and Elliott Management in its sale of a film library that includes 30 Relativity Media titles. Erramouspe told the publication he sees non-entertainment giants increasingly making “their own content to deepen their relationships with the customers and prolong the user experience.”

Tobey is a highly regarded entertainment transactions lawyer and co-chair of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports, and Media practice with more than a decade of executive experience. His practice covers all aspects of production, distribution, financing, and licensing of feature film and television productions, as well as digital media. Variety cited Tobey’s representation of Alibaba for China rights for the Pac-12 US collegiate conference Lionsgate in selling its Epix stake and STX Motion Pictures for domestic theatrical distribution of Europa Corp movies. Tobey told Variety that as a result of consumers’ “more purposeful viewing,” financiers and companies reach for top-tier talent and welcome outside investment to boost budgets.
