LOS ANGELES, CA – May 15, 2014 – O’Melveny & Myers LLP partners Daniel Petrocelli and Stephen Scharf have been named to The Hollywood Reporter’s 2014 Power Lawyers List.  The annual survey, which names the top 100 entertainment lawyers, is considered the authority on industry power players and chooses the winners based on “their huge influence over how Hollywood operates.”  Several of the O’Melveny partners included this year have made multiple appearances on the Power Lawyers List.

Petrocelli is noted for “impressive feats” that include victories for client Warner Bros. in copyright lawsuits over the iconic Superman character, as well as in a case surrounding the film The Last Samurai.  He currently defends TV program American Idol against allegations brought by former contestants.

Scharf is noted for his work in Peter Schlessel’s transition to Focus Films CEO, as well as his success in helping Legendary Entertainment and other Western film companies find footholds in China, South Korea, India, and Indonesia.

Both partners reside in the Firm's Century City office.
