WASHINGTON, DC ─ November 11, 2014 ─ O'Melveny & Myers LLP partner Peter Friedman will be inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy during its 2015 induction ceremony at the United States Supreme Court in Washington, DC.
Founded in 1989, the American College of Bankruptcy “honors exceptional bankruptcy professionals for their work, their contributions to the administration of justice, their public service and their integrity; and employs the talents, resources and good will of its Fellows to promote professional excellence, collegiality, scholarship and access to justice.” The College has approximately 650 Fellows that are selected by a Board of Regents from among recommendations received from the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit. Fellows are extended an invitation to join the College based on a proven record of the highest standards of professionalism and contributions to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency scholarship, education, and processes.
A nationally recognized bankruptcy litigator, Friedman represents major parties in high-stakes, complex financial restructurings. He is a member of O’Melveny’s Restructuring and Distressed Company Litigation practices and resides in the Firm’s Washington, DC office. Friedman is listed as a leading bankruptcy lawyer in Chambers USA, has been named a “Rising Star” in Bankruptcy by Law360, and was recognized as an “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” by Turnarounds & Workouts Magazine.
