Law360 Names O’Melveny a Transportation Group of the Year

February 15, 2017

LOS ANGELES—February 15, 2017—O’Melveny’s work in the transportation industry spans many sectors, including aviation, automotive, ports, rails, and roads, which prompted Law360 to name the firm a Transportation Group of the Year.

“We are very much embedded in this space and very forward looking in terms of where the next big issues are going to be on the horizon,” said O’Melveny partner Carlos Lazatin in the article.

The article featured O’Melveny’s work for automotive clients on class action litigation, including securing the dismissal of claims against Hyundai in a California federal court lawsuit surrounding sunroofs. It also detailed the firm’s extensive work in the aviation space, advising LaGuardia Gateway Partners on its winning US$4 billion bid to operate and redevelop the Center Terminal Building at LaGuardia Airport, and Alaska Air Group Inc. on its US$4 billion acquisition of Virgin America.

“We have been very fortunate to have some really great lawyers in the aviation practice that span a wide range of legal specialties,” O’Melveny partner Bob Siegel said in the article. “We are able to put teams together in a coordinated way.”
