O'Melveny Adds Corporate Lawyer in London

LONDON ─ OCTOBER 15, 2015 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP is pleased to announce that senior international M&A and corporate finance lawyer Sevda Staykova has joined the Firm’s London office as counsel.

Staykova advises multinational companies and private equity firms on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate finance transactions. Her clients include buyers and sellers in private sales and acquisitions as well as corporate issuers and arrangers in the US private placement market. She also represents investors on post-completion integration and reorganisation transactions, and on related regulatory issues.

Before joining O’Melveny, Staykova worked for White & Case, originally in Prague and, since 2007, in London. She received her master's degree from Sofia University School of Law in Sofia, Bulgaria, and her LLM from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She is fluent in English and Bulgarian. Staykova is qualified to practice in England and Wales.

Staykova is O’Melveny’s fourth recent hire of experienced talent in the London office. She joins partner Andrew Weiler, European head of M&A and Corporate Finance, who also recently moved to O’Melveny from White & Case; partner Eve Ellis, who returned to O’Melveny on Oct. 8 as head of the Financial Services/Regulatory Practice in London; and corporate finance counsel Jennifer Kafcas. Together they strengthen and extend the service offering available to the Firm’s broad range of clients in the EU and EMEA as well as deepen links with O’Melveny’s transatlantic clients and enable the Firm to take advantage of new transaction opportunities.
