O’Melveny Adds Intellectual Property Counselor to Silicon Valley Office

SILICON VALLEY—May 22, 2017—Intellectual property counselor Scott Pink is joining the firm’s Silicon Valley office, which has been steadily expanding its IP&T and technology transactions practices. Pink specializes in intellectual property counseling, social media law, and advertising, marketing, and promotions law. He also is a sought-after resource on privacy and cyber security issues.

Pink has served as the lead outside advertising and marketing counsel to several well-known companies. He comes to O’Melveny from another Am Law 100 firm, where he led the advertising and marketing group. Previously, he served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary for Prima Communications, an international media and publishing company. 

“Scott’s deep experience, both as outside counsel for a wide variety of companies and a former general counsel for a large media organization, is a great fit for O’Melveny’s collaborative, cross-practice approach,” said Warren Lazarow, co-chair of O’Melveny’s Transactions Department. Pink, who will work with the firm’s entertainment, sports & media; technology transactions; emerging growth; and IP&T practices, “adds to the deep bench of lawyers in our Silicon Valley office who are advising clients throughout the Bay Area and the US.”

Pink has spoken to many organizations on the subject of marketing and promotions, intellectual property, privacy and security, Internet law, and strategic alliances. He has served as chair of local, state, and national intellectual property organizations, including the San Francisco Bar’s Intellectual Property Section, the California State Bar’s Intellectual Property Section, the American Corporate Counsel Association’s Intellectual Property Committee, and the American Bar Association’s Cybersecurity Task Force.
