O'Melveny Adds Stanton Lovenworth to Health Care and Life Sciences PracticeApril 19, 2012

NEW YORK ─ APRIL 19, 2012 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP announced today that Stanton J. Lovenworth has joined the Firm as counsel in the New York office. Lovenworth will be a member of O’Melveny’s Health Care and Life Sciences Practice.
“With more than three decades of experience representing leading companies in intellectual property transactions, particularly in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, Stan is an excellent addition to our Transactions Department,” said Warren T. Lazarow, Chair of O'Melveny's Transactions Department. “He will work closely with our life sciences and health care teams around the world to help our clients put together their most important partnerships, collaborations, strategic ventures, and licenses.”

The former chair of Dewey & LeBoeuf’s Life Sciences Global Industry Sector Group and a former head of its Technology and Intellectual Property Transactions Practice Group, Lovenworth represents clients in intellectual property transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate matters, with a focus on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. He has extensive experience in transactional intellectual property matters, including technology licensing; patent, trademark, copyright, and merchandise licensing; the formation of IP-based joint ventures, collaborations, and strategic alliances; research, development, clinical trial, co-development, co-promotion, and supply and manufacturing agreements in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors; and “spin-outs” and investment and M&A transactions involving intellectual property assets in a variety of technology and media sectors. Lovenworth’s experience also encompasses trademark protection and enforcement. He has been recognized in The Legal 500 US as a leading practitioner in the trademark area annually since 2007, in advertising and marketing in 2010 and 2011, and in life sciences in 2011.

Lovenworth graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from Haverford College. He also earned an M.A. in French Political History with high honors from the University of Paris. Lovenworth received a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He is admitted to practice in New York.
