LOS ANGELES, CA -- June 5, 2015 -- Law360 again has named O’Melveny & Myers LLP as one of its top California Powerhouse firms for 2015, in the second annual feature. The publication highlighted “O’Melveny’s clout in the technology and entertainment spaces, [which] has not only earned the firm an ‘overwhelming amount of new business’ in 2015, it's made the 130-year-old firm an undisputed heavy hitter in the California market.”

The feature detailed O’Melveny’s victory for Samsung in defeating class certification in a case alleging price fixing on optical disk drives; securing another in a line of wins for Warner Bros. when the Supreme Court declined to hear the case surrounding copyrights to the Superman character; and paving the way for the boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather this spring along with the class action claims after the fight.

Law360 talked about some precedent-setting matters that the Firm advised on, including the billion-dollar initial public offering of LendingClub Corp., in which O'Melveny represented underwriters; and the new high-speed rail agreement in California, which the Firm helped negotiate right-of-way agreements.

The article also detailed how O’Melveny’s five California offices work together to provide the best service for clients and experience for lawyers. “I think people here are allowed to be themselves and work in whatever way makes them the most effective lawyer without the feeling of having to conform or to present in a certain way,” said Los Angeles office managing partner John-Paul Motley.
