WASHINGTON, DC – September 21, 2010 – International law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP and global strategic counseling firm The RiceHadley Group have established a non-exclusive collaboration to offer clients critical advice on the complex issues associated with investing and doing business in emerging markets.
“Our association with RiceHadley adds an important and unique dimension to our role as trusted advisor to our clients, enhancing the strategic advice we can provide to them as they evaluate opportunities and navigate the challenging global business marketplace,” said Arthur B. Culvahouse, Jr., Chair of O’Melveny & Myers.
The RiceHadley Group is led by former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former US National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley. They are joined by Anja Manuel, who served as a former special assistant to the US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs. Formed in 2009, The RiceHadley Group focuses on advising US companies doing business abroad, especially in key emerging markets such as China, India, Brazil, and the Middle East.
“We are honored to collaborate with Secretary Rice, Steve Hadley, and Anja Manuel on this exciting and innovative venture. Our association affords clients access to the high-level experience and keen geopolitical insights of RiceHadley’s principals in identifying, assessing, and capitalizing on international business and investment opportunities, coupled with O’Melveny’s ability to counsel clients on achieving their business objectives,” Culvahouse added.
As one example of their combined capabilities, the two firms recently hosted a CEO-level gathering in Silicon Valley. Principals from both firms led an in-depth analysis of the considerable risks and opportunities presented by China’s increasingly strong position on the world stage.
Culvahouse described the event as “a prime illustration of the added value O’Melveny can deliver to clients as a result of our alliance with RiceHadley.”
