O’Melveny Awarded Gold Standard Certification for Third Straight Year by Women in Law Empowerment Forum

Firm Meets WILEF’s High Standards for Advancing Women, Minorities and LGBT Attorneys

NEW YORK—June 19, 2019—O’Melveny has once again been awarded a Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF). This is the third straight year O’Melveny has been recognized by WILEF for reaching specific benchmarks for advancing opportunities for women lawyers at the firm.

WILEF is the premier professional organization for supporting women at the nation’s largest law firms and corporate law departments. It grants Gold Standard certification to firms where leadership roles, compensation, and partner rosters meet objective milestone criteria. The promotion of minority and LGBT attorneys is also incorporated into the Gold Standard.

O’Melveny’s inclusion among the country’s top Gold Standard law firms was based on its success in achieving the following criteria:

  • 20% of equity partners chosen in the past 12 months were women (or 33% of attorneys becoming equity partners)
  • 15% of U.S. branch office heads are women
  • 20% of primary governance committee is comprised of women members
  • At least 7% of women equity partners are minorities or 3.5% identify as LGBT
