O’Melveny Celebrates 15th Anniversary of New York Scholarship Program

5월 18, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK — May 18, 2017 — O’Melveny will present scholarship awards to 15 deserving students from New York City public schools at the firm’s 15th Annual New York Scholarship Awards ceremony, which will take place on May 22, 2017, at 6:00 pm in the firm’s New York office.

Each year, O’Melveny’s New York Scholarship Program honors public high school students—three from each borough—who are selected through an application and interview process in collaboration with the Fund for Public Schools. The program’s unique structure combines crucial financial support with college readiness workshops and professional mentoring. The awards are intended to empower students who show tremendous promise but face significant financial and other obstacles to realizing their college and career aspirations.

“For the past 15 years, O’Melveny has been providing college scholarships to New York City public high school students who demonstrate the firm’s values of excellence, leadership, and citizenship,” said Jeffrey Kohn, managing partner of O'Melveny's New York office. “By providing financial assistance for college, in addition to mentorship and professional guidance to these remarkable young individuals, O’Melveny is honored to help them achieve their long-term career and life goals.”

The reception will include remarks from Kohn as well as a keynote speech from Adel Elzanie, a 2012 O’Melveny scholar who is now attending medical school.
