HONG KONG — September 9, 2016 — O’Melveny partner Nima Amini was named “Young Lawyer of the Year” by Asian Legal Business at the Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards, which were held September 9, 2016, at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong. Amini was selected from a shortlist of 16 candidates.
Amini is a mergers and acquisitions specialist with experience advising multinationals, financial institutions, and investment funds on complex cross-border transactions. He’s been identifying investment trends for Chinese companies looking to expand in the US as detailed in O’Melveny’s 2016 Foreign Direct Investment Report.
In addition, O’Melveny was recognized for its work in connection with Alibaba’s acquisition of Youku Tudou Inc., which won ALB’s award for “M&A Deal of the Year.” The O’Melveny team was led by Amini, along with partner Tony Wang.
