O’Melveny Honored by Weingart Center for the Homeless for Eight Decades of Public Service

LOS ANGELES, CA ─ November 13, 2014 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP was honored by The Weingart Center for the Homeless with its 2014 Public Service Award at the organization’s 2nd Annual Gala on November 6, 2014. The Firm was recognized for eight decades of public service to the Los Angeles community through ongoing pro bono work, dating back to its involvement in the founding of The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, the oldest and largest provider of free legal services to the poor in California, in 1929.
O’Melveny has long been linked with The Weingart Center. Partner Stephen Scharf, who is transactional co-head of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports, and Media Practice, serves on the organization’s Board of Trustees, as did the Firm’s late partner Dean Weiner.
