WASHINGTON, DC – NOVEMBER 1, 2012 – O’Melveny & Myers LLP is pleased to announce the launch of its FCPA app, the first multi-functional mobile application (app) created by the law firm. As one of the leading firms in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) work, O’Melveny has created the innovative app as an enhancement to the guidance its lawyers already provide to help clients understand the unique challenges presented by this increasingly complex legal landscape. The app can be downloaded free from the App StoreSM service (search: “OMM FCPA”) offered by Apple Inc.® and is designed for use on the iPhone® and iPad® mobile digital devices.
“We understand the complexities our clients and colleagues face in achieving their business goals in the global marketplace, and thus, have created this mobile application as a fast, yet informative, way for them to remain current with the evolving statutes and provisions imposed by the FCPA and other anti-corruption laws, ” said Richard Grime, partner and head of O’Melveny’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Practice.
The user-friendly app serves as a comprehensive, convenient reference guide for clients and friends and includes four key features. The first two tabs in the FCPA app directly link to mobile versions of two of O’Melveny’s well-known and informative handbooks, O’Melveny’s FCPA Handbook, which offers an introduction to the law as well as a thorough analysis of the FCPA covering important enforcement actions and settlements, as well as O’Melveny’s “In-House Counsel’s Guide to Conducting Internal Investigations,” which is a brief, practical guide designed to inform in-house counsel about the key issues that arise when facing a typical internal investigation. Tab three is divided into five resource sections that serve as an interactive, illustrative directory for users. The expandable sections are: “Statutes,” “O’Melveny Authored Client Alerts,” “Enforcement Actions,” “Links to FCPA-related Web sites”, and “DOJ Opinion Releases.” Tab four features an index of O’Melveny’s leading FCPA practitioners.
“We envision this to become a useful tool for busy executives who want access to O’Melveny’s leading FCPA resources at the touch of a fingertip,” says Dan Shallman, a partner in O’Melveny’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Practice and co-creator of the FCPA app.
