LOS ANGELES, CA -- June 8, 2011 -- O'Melveny & Myers LLP is ranked 17th in The American Lawyer's 2011 Diversity Scorecard, the publication's annual ranking of firms according to the proportion of minority representation within their respective partnerships and overall lawyer populations.  The Firm's 2011 rank is its highest in four years and represents a move up 10 spots from last year.

"AmLaw's Diversity Scorecard is a great basis for furthering our ongoing dialogue regarding diversity at O'Melveny & Myers," said Denise Robinson, the Firm's Director of Diversity and Inclusion.  "We have more work to do, but the positive trends reflected in the latest results, both for the Firm and the industry as a whole, are very encouraging."

"The progress reflected in this year's Scorecard demonstrates that through ongoing efforts like our diversity roundtables, gender diversity training for partners, affinity groups, and focus on fielding diverse teams to best serve our clients, we can continue to make strides towards our goals of rich diversity and full inclusion at O'Melveny," added Diversity and Strategic Recruiting and Placements Partner Framroze Virjee.

AmLaw compiles the Diversity Scorecard by surveying firms in The AmLaw 200 and The NLJ 250.  Using 2010 fiscal year information supplied by the 194 firms that participated, the magazine determined the “diversity score” for each firm, defined as the “minority percentage of all U.S. attorneys + minority percentage of all U.S. partners,” then ranked the firms by their scores.
