O’Melveny Named a “Hero of Child Justice” for Pro Bono Work

New York, NY—May 7, 2017—O’Melveny was honored by Child Justice with its Community Partnership - Pro Bono Legal Services Award at the organization’s third annual fundraiser, 2017 Heroes of Child Justice, held May 7, 2017, at the Annapolis Maritime Museum in Annapolis, MD.

Child Justice also recognized O’Melveny senior paralegal Kim Grotenrath for her efforts to help children through O’Melveny’s pro bono work.

Based in Washington, DC, Child Justice, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides legal services and advocacy for children’s rights. Child Justice seeks to ensure that courts protect children in cases of abuse and family violence.

O’Melveny is a longtime supporter of Child Justice. For more than 15 years, the firm, led by partner Gregory Jacob, has provided pro bono services to Child Justice, including representing protective parents in the trial courts, litigating appeals, and drafting and submitting amicus briefs for important cases. Jacob’s efforts were recognized by the organization with its Friend of Children Award in 2005 and Shine the Light on Children’s Rights Award in 2009.
