December 07, 2016FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK—December 7, 2016—For the fifth consecutive year, O’Melveny has achieved a perfect score of 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality administered annually by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC). The firm also again earned the distinction of being named a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” by the HRC.
“We recognize diversity and inclusion as essential priorities that foster excellence in our work and allow each of us to work in an environment where we are respected and valued,” said Mary Ellen Connerty, O’Melveny’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion. “We are proud to be among the businesses leading the way in working to ensure workplace equality for LGBTQ employees and are encouraged by the growing commitment among employers seen in this year’s report.”
The 2017 CEI evaluated LGBTQ-related policies and practices at more than 1,000 businesses, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and responsible citizenship. O’Melveny was among 517 major US businesses earning top marks this year.
