SAN FRANCISCO - June 3, 2014 - O'Melveny & Myers LLP has been named to the National Law Journal’s 2014 IP Hot List. In the June 2, 2014, article, O’Melveny is noted for having “convinced courts that its opponents didn't play well with others last year.”

The publication cites the Firm’s victories for SK hynix Inc. and Top Victory Electronics Co. Ltd. in high-profile patent infringement litigation, and quotes Darin Snyder, the San Francisco-based chair of O’Melveny’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice, and Los Angeles-based IP&T partner Mark Samuels about the wins.

For SK hynix, O’Melveny secured a historic sanction from the Northern District of California, which charged Rambus Inc. with a US$250 million sanction for destroying evidence in a memory-chip patent infringement case.

The article also highlights O’Melveny’s successful jury verdict for Top Victory Electronics Co. Ltd. in a federal patent case filed by Hitachi Consumer Electronics Co. Ltd. in the Eastern District of Texas. As reported by the National Law Journal, the jury found that TPV did not infringe on four of Hitachi’s patents related to digital television technology, and found two of them invalid.
