WASHINGTON, DC ─ October 31, 2013 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP announced two new office leadership appointments this week, naming Jeffrey Kilduff managing partner of the Firm’s Washington, DC, office and Luann Simmons managing partner of the San Francisco office.

The firmwide chair of O’Melveny’s Securities Litigation Practice, Kilduff represents a broad range of clients in securities litigation and enforcement matters as well as in antitrust litigation and counseling. His wide-ranging securities practice has included class-action defense, the defense of derivative litigation on behalf of individuals and companies, internal corporate investigations, compliance counseling, and SEC, NYSE, and FINRA investigations, enforcement proceedings, and arbitrations. His antitrust experience includes numerous class actions for clients in a wide range of industries and civil and criminal matters before the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. Kilduff, who is also a member of the Firm’s Policy Committee, has earned multiple recognitions as a leader in his field from publications such as Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and Benchmark Litigation.

Kilduff succeeds Steve Bunnell, who will become General Counsel at the United States Department of Homeland Security. “Steve’s new post continues the O’Melveny tradition of government service at the highest levels,” said Bradley J. Butwin, Chair of O’Melveny. “We are proud of Steve, and appreciate his outstanding contributions to the Firm as both a practitioner and head of our DC office.”

Simmons is a leading member of the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice within the Litigation Department and also sits on the Firm’s Policy Committee. She leverages her strong background in physics and computer engineering, which includes several years of experience in software development, to assist the Firm’s technology clients in the enforcement, defense, and litigation of patent, trade secret, copyright, and other intellectual property rights. Simmons has been named a “Super Lawyer” in intellectual property litigation for several years and was recently recognized as one of The Recorder’s Women Leaders in Tech Law as well as one of Profiles in Diversity Journal’s Women Worth Watching for 2013.

Simmons succeeds Michael Tubach, an influential criminal antitrust litigator who was installed as secretary of The Bar Association of San Francisco earlier this year. Tubach headed the San Francisco office for five years and has been a driving force behind some of the Firm’s most notable antitrust victories while deepening its ties with clients doing business in San Francisco and internationally.

Butwin applauded the expansion of Kilduff’s and Simmons’s roles. “Beyond being a versatile and widely respected litigator, Jeff is one of our most deeply committed and valued Firm leaders. He’s an excellent choice to lead our thriving Washington practice,” said Butwin. “I’m equally thrilled to have Luann at the helm of our San Francisco office. She’s an exceptional practitioner who has represented some of our most important clients. She’s greatly admired within and outside the Firm, and well positioned to lead the continued growth of our relationships with our local clients and community.”
