O’Melveny Ranked in 27 Practices Nationwide by US News – Best Lawyers

Los Angeles—November 1, 2017—O’Melveny made a strong showing in the 2018 edition of US News – Best Lawyers “Best Firms” list. The annual list, published online November 1, 2017, ranks 27 practice areas nationwide, including 15 in the prestigious Tier 1 category, and dozens more by metropolitan area.

Earlier this year, the 2018 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® selected 44 O’Melveny lawyers for inclusion and named four as Lawyers of the Year, including Seth Aronson (Litigation - Regulatory Enforcement, SEC, Telecom, Energy), Apalla Chopra (Labor Law - Management), Jay Herron (Mergers and Acquisitions Law), and Heather Meeker (Information Technology Law). In addition, Jonathan Blake was named a 2018 London Lawyer of the Year (Investment Funds).

Practice area rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process.

The 2018 rankings are based on the highest number of participating firms and highest number of client ballots on record. To be eligible for a ranking, a firm must have a lawyer listed in The Best Lawyers in America, which recognizes the top 4 percent of practicing attorneys in the US. Over 13,000 attorneys provided more than 1,000,000 law firm assessments, and over 7,500 clients provided more than 65,000 evaluations.
