HONG KONG--AUGUST 11, 2011 -- O’Melveny & Myers LLP has represented China Eastern Airlines on its offering of RMB 2.5 billion (US$390 million) principal amount of 4% guaranteed bonds due 8 August 2014.  The offering was made under Regulation S to offshore institutional investors located primarily in Hong Kong and Singapore.  The transaction is governed under Hong Kong law.   

 

 

According to its press release, China Eastern Airlines intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for working capital and other general corporate purposes. 

 

 

O’Melveny’s team for China Eastern was led by counsel Andrew Hutton (Singapore), and partners Neil Campbell (Hong Kong) and Li Qiang (Shanghai).  HSBC, Deutsche Bank, China International Capital Corporation, and Agricultural Bank of China acted as joint lead managers and joint bookrunners.
