O’Melveny Sponsors 12th Annual Homeland Security Law Institute

WASHINGTON, DC—September 18, 2017—O’Melveny will sponsor the American Bar Association’s 12th Annual Homeland Security Law Institute (HSLI), taking place on September 25-27, 2017, at George Washington University in Washington, DC. This three-day event is one of the largest gatherings of homeland security lawyers and policymakers in the United States.

The Institute provides an annual look at the state of security from cybersecurity to infrastructure, immigration to oversight, and the roles of the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, the military, FBI, the legal profession, and many more in keeping the country secure.

This year’s program will focus on cybersecurity and the global relationships necessary to facilitate security, privacy, and commerce around the world.

O’Melveny partner Steve Bunnell, former general counsel of the US Department of Homeland Security, will co-chair the program and partners Kiran Raj and Danielle Gray and senior of counsel Tom Donilon will serve as panelists.

Commenting on the event, Bunnell said, “I am particularly excited by the program’s expanded emphasis on cybersecurity, which is one of most challenging and rapidly emerging areas of homeland security law. We have a lineup of truly outstanding speakers, including many key senior government officials, both current and former.
