LOS ANGELES, CA--MAY 27, 2016--O’Melveny won Legal Week’s 2016 Training Innovation award, besting five other firms nominated in the category. O’Melveny was honored at the Legal Week Innovation Awards ceremony in London May 27, 2016.
O’Melveny was recognized for OMMLit, a crowd-sourced website and just-in-time learning system, connecting common litigation tasks with the software, content, and specialists that can perform them efficiently. Built over a period of 18 months by the firm’s in-house team of developers, the product was created to help lawyers at the firm harness the power of the many digital resources available to them, but which they were either unfamiliar with, or didn’t know how to access or use.
In selecting O’Melveny for the honor, Legal Week hailed the firm’s “efforts to simplify the vast amount of resources available to litigators, with a site helping junior lawyers and others new to litigation to see the ‘big picture’ around cases.”
The Legal Week Innovation Awards recognize the critical contributions made by non-fee earning staff to the success of their businesses. Categories include PR, business development, finance, compliance, IT, project management, facilities, operations and HR and recruitment.
Since it launched OMMLit in August 2015, O’Melveny also has been honored with a 2015 Innovator Award from The Recorder.
