BEIJING, CHINA ─ DECEMBER 13, 2011 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s Bingna Guo, a counsel in the Firm’s China practice, was chosen as Euromoney Legal Media Group’s very first “Rising Star” at the Asia Women in Business Law Awards, held December 8, 2011, at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Bingna Guo, a member of O'Melveny's International Litigation Practice, beat out some stiff competition, including a shortlist of seven other women lawyers from prominent international and national law firms who were nominated for the award. Bingna Guo has extensive experience on a wide range of cross-border litigation and transactions matters, from complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, international anticorruption investigations, international commercial arbitration, and crisis management to deal negotiations, and regulatory and compliance advice for leading businesses in China and across the globe. Bingna Guo also is cofounder and a key member of O'Melveny's China-based US-listed Company Litigation Task Force. In that role, Bingna Guo and the other Task Force partners and counsel provide legal advice and representation to companies that either are facing lawsuits or want to avoid them in the future.

“I’m so honored for this prestigious recognition of the great work our China practice does for clients every day,” Bingna Guo said. “My career has been shaped by the opportunities I have been given by O’Melveny.”

"We are extremely proud of Bingna's achievement," said Larry Sussman, managing partner of O'Melveny’s Beijing office.  “She is true O'Melveny China heritage, having started her legal career with us since law school and growing into ever more senior roles which represent the future of the firm in China."
