O’Melveny’s Dubeck, Lens, and Strong Named Most Influential Women Lawyers in Los Angeles
April 24, 2017FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles—April 24, 2017—O’Melveny partners Elizabeth Dubeck, Molly Lens, and Sabrina Strong are featured among Los Angeles Business Journal’s Most Influential Women Lawyers in Los Angeles for 2017. The special feature, published April 24, 2017, profiles 50 top Los Angeles-based women lawyers, discussing their careers and recent professional achievements.
Calling Dubeck “a leader in O’Melveny’s Project Development and Real Estate Practice,” the publication notes she “routinely handles the firm’s high-profile, groundbreaking project finance and development deals, as well as public-private partnership transactions.” The LABJ pointed to Dubeck’s work over the last year leading the legal team handling the US$2.5 billion bond financing transaction in connection with LaGuardia Gateway Partners’ leasing, redevelopment financing, and long-term operation (through 2050) of the Central Terminal Building at New York LaGuardia Airport, a US$4 billion redevelopment project that is the world’s largest public-private partnership to date.
The LABJ hailed Lens as “a highly skilled and accomplished litigator,” whose clients include clients include major motion picture studios, leading investment banks, and high-net-worth individuals. The publication singled out as highlights of her work representing Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema in copyright and contract action over merchandising, service, and theme park rights to “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit;” representing Citibank in litigation arising out of one of the largest foreign currency trading frauds; and representing Fox in a trademark dispute to the breakout hit “Empire.”
Partner and co-chair of O’Melveny’s Consumer Class Actions Practice, Strong capitalizes on her “unique combination of high-profile trial experience and sophisticated appellate work,” the LABJ wrote, noting she is “regularly called upon to actively litigate cases as appellate counsel throughout trial for high-exposure matters across a wide variety of industries.” The LABJ cited Strong’s work handling a variety of class actions for clients, including an outright dismissal of a class complaint for General Mills and a series of related consumer class action complaints in federal and state courts for Clorox spanning eight years.
