Three O’Melveny Partners Named Finalists for LABJ’s Leaders in Law Awards
October 30, 2017FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles—October 30, 2017—O’Melveny partners Matt Kline and Bo Pearl are finalists in Los Angeles Business Journal’s Leaders in Law awards in the category of Entertainment, and partner Elizabeth Dubeck is a finalist in the category of Real Estate. They were profiled in the October 30, 2017, issue of LABJ.
In its profile of Kline, the LABJ noted that in addition to his work litigating water-rights cases “all the way to the Supreme Court,” Kline is the go-to litigator for Warner Bros., citing as an example his successful defense of the company in claims against Warner Bros. involving the script for its film “Trouble with the Curve.”
In its profile of Pearl, the publication highlighted one especially busy week that included defending the deposition of pop star Kesha in her legal battle against the producer Dr. Luke, preparing for an idea theft claim against client Disney, and taking the deposition of the CEO of a future Hall of Fame NFL athlete’s company.
And in its profile of Dubeck, the LABJ cited as “notable work” her representation of a large US port in various financing transactions, advising governmental agencies in the development of transportation infrastructure assets, and representing the investor group in the financing and development of an airline passenger terminal at JFK.
A nationally recognized lawyer with a broad litigation practice who also advises on public policy matters, Century City-based Kline advises both plaintiffs and defendants in trials, arbitrations, and appeals focusing on intellectual property, contract, and international disputes. Head of the firm’s Water Industry Practice, his client roster spans industries as diverse as entertainment, technology, private equity, energy, and water.
Pearl, managing partner of the Century City office, represents companies in the entertainment, sports, and technology industries in their general business and antitrust litigation. Legal 500 recommends Bo as an “outstanding litigator.” He also was recognized as a “Top 10 Competition Attorney Under 40” by Law360.
LA-based Dubeck focuses her practice on project finance, infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, real estate development, and leasing. She represents both public and private project sponsors, developers and investors in public-private partnership transactions involving transportation infrastructure assets, including seaports, airports and rail facilities, and including in particular the privatization of governmentally-owned assets. She also represents project sponsors and financial institutions in financings of infrastructure and related projects.
