LOS ANGELES ─ June 14, 2016 ─ O’Melveny partner Steve Olson will join the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and World Trade Center Los Angeles in leading the 2016 Select LA Investment Summit. Olson is the former Executive Director of SelectUSA, President Barack Obama’s initiative to attract increased foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States. Under Olson’s leadership, SelectUSA helped channel more than US$25 billion in new foreign investment, creating and retaining tens of thousands of jobs.
The June 16-17 Select LA Investment Summit, which will be held at Fox Studios and the JW Marriott at LA Live, is a direct offshoot of SelectUSA’s efforts and will feature a keynote address by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, as well as remarks by Inglewood Mayor James Butts, Jr.; senior executives from Legendary Entertainment, STX Entertainment, and Wanda Cultural Industry Group; and the leaders of the Los Angeles World Airports and the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, among many others. The Summit will bring together global investors with business and governmental leaders from Southern California to facilitate investment opportunities and provide exclusive insights into market trends in the Los Angeles area.
The program will feature high profile speakers spanning a diverse array of industries and presenting on topics such as the future of investments in entertainment, an outlook on FDI and international trade, insights into the Los Angeles real estate market, trends in technology deals, and infrastructure developments.
