SAN FRANCISCO, CA – January 14, 2013 – Michael F. Tubach, managing partner of O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s San Francisco office, was installed as secretary of The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) at its annual membership luncheon on December 11, 2012, in San Francisco. Tubach’s service as secretary is the first in a series of BASF board commitments leading to the position of president. Subsequent to his tenure as secretary, Tubach will assume the officer roles of treasurer (2014), president-elect (2015), and president (2016).
BASF is a nonprofit voluntary membership organization of over 8,000 lawyers, law students, and legal professionals in the SF Bay Area. Founded in 1872, BASF is one of the largest and most dynamic metropolitan bar associations in the US, with a long and distinguished record of community action, public service, and service to the legal profession.
Tubach is a member of O’Melveny’s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice as well as the Firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice. He focuses on civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense, representing companies and individuals in criminal, antitrust, securities, and class action disputes and internal investigations. Tubach has been actively involved with BASF for many years, including as Chair of its Judiciary Committee.
Tubach is a former Assistant US Attorney in the US Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC. He received his J.D. in 1989 from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor for the California Law Review, and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. Tubach was a law clerk for the Honorable Stephen F. Williams of the United States Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
