Youth, Community Police Interactions Workshops
O’Melveny is collaborating with the Resilience Advocacy Project, which works to empower youth to become leaders in the fight to end poverty, on a know-your-rights workshop series for teens regarding the law governing police interactions.
These workshops creating a space for teens to talk about their experiences, learn their rights, and discuss real-world strategies for encounters with the police. In addition to the workshops, the project also organizes community conversations with the stakeholders in the communities, including these young people, the police, and local political leaders. This provides a platform for these teenagers to join the local and national dialogue on an issue that affects their daily lives.
