Alexa Graumlich is a litigator who focuses her practice on labor and employment matters, including wage and hour class actions, discrimination and retaliation claims, employee discipline and termination, and related matters. Her practice also involves counseling companies on a variety of employment law issues. She represents clients in the technology, financial services, airline, and hospitality industries.

Alexa also maintains a substantial pro bono practice, focusing on immigration and asylum.

  • Defended a global insurance provider in a putative class and collective action alleging misclassification of insurance underwriters. Successfully moved for summary judgment on the plaintiff’s federal claims.

  • Counseling a healthcare company on various employment law issues related to COVID-19.
  • Advising companies and non-profits regarding compliance with the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
  • Providing training and advice relating to compliance with state and local sexual harassment training requirements.

Pro Bono

  • Representing a Salvadoran woman seeking asylum based on domestic abuse.
  • Represented a transgender woman from Thailand seeking withholding of removal and relief under the Convention Against Torture before an Immigration Judge, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit.
  • Assisted in drafting a United States Supreme Court amicus curiae brief regarding the legislative history of mandatory detention.
