Daniel Quinn has extensive experience on all aspects of private equity, including fund formation work, and in mergers and acquisitions including cross-border leveraged buy outs, disposals, syndications and secondary transactions. Daniel has advised investment managers on a wide range of fund formation matters, including the establishment of alternative asset funds, green energy and infrastructure funds, emerging market and distressed debt funds. He has also acted for a broad range of investors in private equity, including sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, governmental development agencies and others on various aspects of their investment programs including participation in funds and co-investments.

  • Represented Coller Capital in several major mandates in 2012 including one of the largest secondaries fundraisings ever—Coller International Partners VI (CIP VI), which raised in excess of $5.5 billion; and what is believed to be the largest unsyndicated secondaries deal ever completed—the acquisition of £1.03 billion of private equity assets from Lloyds. O’Melveny was named “Private Equity Team of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards 2013 for this work. 
  • Advising a newly established alternative asset manager in the formation of their first fund, focusing on emerging and underserved investment strategies. 
  • Advising the investment arm of a global bank on the establishment of a green energy fund. 
  • Advising an American private equity house on the formation of a joint venture green infrastructure fund, investing in emerging markets. 
  • Advising one of the leading emerging markets funds on the establishment of their €4400 million African fund.
