Jessica Nemeth is an EU-qualified lawyer specializing in competition law. She is based in the O’Melveny Brussels office, and has experience working in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Sao Paulo.
The scope of Jessica’s work includes advising on global competition compliance programs, international mergers, including filings under the EU Merger Regulation and the Brazilian Antitrust Act, advice on competition law in a wide range of commercial agreements in chemicals, paints and coatings, aluminum, semiconductors, telecom, and commodities (orange juice, wheat, flour, oil seed crushing) industries.
Prior to joining the Brussels office, Jessica worked as in-house counsel at AkzoNobel, a Dutch multinational specialized in paints and coatings. Working at the headquarters, Jessica was part of the global compliance team where she developed, designed and implemented the competition and anti-bribery compliance program.
Jessica has won the Ruben Perea Award 2021, a prize given to the best submission written by practitioners under 30 years old published in the renowned peer-reviewed Oxford publication, the Journal of European Competition Law & Practice. Jessica was a speaker at the 3rd International Conference on Competition and Innovation organized by IBCI - Brazilian Institute of Competition and Innovation.
